HTTP 2016
What is HTTP? HTTP (HIMTI Togetherness And Top Performance) is an event organized by Himpunan Mahasiswa Teknik Informatika Bina Nusantara (HIMTI), either Kemanggisan or Alam Sutera to welcome Binusian 2020 School of Computer Science.

This event was held on 10th of September 2016, starting from 9.00 A.M. until finish in the 3rd floor of BPPT II (Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi) Building, Jalan M.H. Thamrin No. 8, Kebon Sirih, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat.
Firstly I would like to let you know that I didn’t come to that event. Why? Not because I don’t want to. I really want to come, but right on the same day, my brother is going to propose his fiancee on Bandung, so I have to come to my brother’s proposal because family comes first, right? So right in the end I didn’t come to HTTP, which I knew will be very exciting. But here I am going to tell you what was on HTTP a few days ago. I gathered several information from my friends what was on HTTP, so here we go.
Since the avenue is quite far from Alam Sutera, so HIMTI provided buses for students whose house is far from the BPPT Building. Starting from 6.00 A.M., students from Alam Sutera gathered in Binus Alam Sutera and went together by bus to BPPT Building. Then after about several hours of trip, they finally arrived at the avenue, it was about 9 P.M. For students that have arrived earlier, HIMTI showed a movie so the new students don’t get bored while waiting other students that haven’t arrived yet. The movie title is “ZOOTOPIA” that is quite exciting and interesting to watch. Then after all students have arrived, there was a countdown by HTTP 2016 mascot for the official opening of HTTP 2016.

After that, a band called “Peanut Butter” showed up to the stage as an opening performance to entertain the audiences. Actually I am a part of this band but I couldn’t join them because of my family affair. They prepared 2 songs titled “Panah Asmara” by Afgan and “Don’t Look Back In Anger” by Oasis. The second song is one of my favorite song and my friends told me that it was a nice performance, although they made some mistakes, but they have given their best.
Next is opening speeches from the chairman of HTTP 2016 (Martin Arlando Teng), President of HIMTI Kemanggisan (Jonathan Gozali), Chairman and President of HIMTI Alam Sutera (Rionaldi Aureri Linggautama), Dean of School of Computer Science (Mr. Fredy Purnomo S.Kom.,M.Kom. and also staffs & lecturers of Computer Science). And after the speeches, there’s a ‘Stacking Words’ game, and continued by a performance by Adam Sidqon, Binusian 2017 that successfully rocked BPPT II 3rd floor by his voice and guitar, bringing one of the most top music hit originally by Justin Bieber titled “Love Yourself”. Everybody was enjoying the show and sang together. Then after tired of singing, it was a break time with a duration of 1 and a half hour.
Not only that, the show continued by talkshow with some of Computer Science Alumni that told us some motivations and tips to be success on Computer Science which is motivating and inspiring for the new students of course. And next, the most awaited event has begun, it was HTTP 2016 Visualization and continued by some other interesting events such as IT showcase, a dance performance by Revolution, inauguration of Binusian 2020 School of Computer Science, and in the end it was so exhausting yet exciting, it was a DJ performance that made all the audiences sweating, and you could feel the euphoria if you were there, but sadly, I wasn’t there.
At the end of the event, just before they got home, the new students got merchandise such as t-shirt and e-certificate. And finally, HTTP 2016 is over and all students got home. Honestly I don’t really know much about what was on HTTP 2016 because physically I wasn’t there, but more or less that is all I got from my friends’ story and from what they’ve told me about HTTP 2016. Overall it was exciting for us, new Binusian 2020 Computer Science students.
That’s all about HTTP 2016, thank you for reading! 🙂
